“And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.” Isaiah 37:31
Upward fruit bearing occurs as the disciple takes root downward, being buried down deeply into the death and burial of Christ. The One who is “the resurrection, and the life” then simultaneously raises up that downward dying saint to newness of life in His Spirit (Jn. 11:25; Rom. 8:11).

This volume contains a message sorely needed in this Laodicean age. Like Michaiah, the lonely prophet in the days of Ahab and Jezebel, the declaration of this book speaks contrary to the messages being preached by the vast majority in Christian media today.
Death to self, daily death with the Crucified Lord, is the only way to overcome sin and produce fruit. I am convinced that this is why there is apostasy and fruitlessness in many who claim to be God’s people today. We are keeping alive what should be destroyed: namely, our self-lives. Meditate on the truth in this book. Put its principles into practice and you will reap a harvest of true righteousness. You will become a powerful witness of Christ and an effective soul-winner when you embrace the cross and understand its manifold wisdom. The remnant are those who live this message; there is no other true remnant.
Instead of laughing with the world's filthy entertainment, the remnant is being called out to the house of mourning and the painful path of dying to self. Following Jesus in death to self to serve the Father alone is our hope in this final hour. May the tears we shed as we enter death with Christ be turned to joy as we reap eternal fruit.
