GRACE ABOUNDING
WHEREVER you see sin in the world, or in your own life, remember to REJOICE because there God's grace can abound much more:
"Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:" Romans 5:20
Is such not a principle in God’s economy of dealing with men? The Bible repeatedly foretells us that in the very last days of this sinful age, temptations and sin would abound:
"(in the final days) But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." 2 Timothy 3:13
"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;" 2 Thessalonians 2:3
“And because iniquity shall abound (be epidemic), the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Matthew 24:12-13
Gross and epidemic homosexuality is revealed by God as the last stage of apostasy before great judgment falls on a nation(Romans 1, etc.). The great "falling away" is well under way and escalating exponentially, and yet God's grace (regardless of whether or not we personally realize it) is abounding yet more and more in His saints throughout the earth to save and bless men. His original intention and purpose in the Gospel (Good News) has not changed. More than all Christians combined, the One who bled on Calvary deeply desires to make His beautiful salvation effectual to the multitudes He died and raised to rescue. The Father doesn’t want any to perish but that all would come to repentance and be saved (1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Pet. 3:9).
"Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities." Acts 3:26
As we know, if there is no repentance, there will be no grace granted (Luke 13:3,5, etc.). Repentance is essential for the reception of salvation and divine blessing. This message is no attempt to ignore such a non-negotiable, divine requirement. What did our LORD tell us to do when we see all the evil of the last days (He foretold us of) coming to pass before our eyes? Jesus instructed us to:
While specifically enumerating the events which would transpire in the final days of this age, ushering in His return to earth, the Rock of all ages said:
"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." Luke 21:28
"Your redemption draweth nigh (close)" - Jesus Is Coming Soon.
The next time you become overwhelmed at the site of all the sin abounding around you or in you, remember that God’s grace does “much more abound.”
May our LORD grant us the abounding grace to thank Him for His keeping power and joy to live pleasing to Him in all things, and to communicate the saving Gospel to others.
"Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." 1 Peter 1:5
"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy." Jude 24
When God’s love is truly made perfect in us, we will speak His truth that He might bring precious lost souls home (Eph. 4:15; Rev. 22:17).
