AN ANGRY MAN IN HELL Will You Be?
To His Own "friends", the Master said:
“And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” Luke 12:4-5
One
night a respected pastor in south Texas had a dream of a man running through waist-high fire, picking up bodies and throwing them down after identifying them by looking at their faces. The pastor related that it was as if he was hunting for someone in particular. In the vision, this angry man running through the fire, was going from person to person, hastily picking up tormented bodies one by one off the ground and throwing them down after looking at the face and seeing it wasn't the person he was looking for. At this point you might be asking “Who was this angry man looking for?”
The next morning the pastor who had this dream was distraught at such a horrid vision and asked the LORD what that dream meant. The LORD said simply: "This is an angry man in hell looking for a preacher that lied to him!"
This was a person (angry man in hell) who sat under a pastor who was more interested in building his own personal kingdom on this earth instead of Christ's, so he told people what they wanted to hear instead of what they needed to hear – the full-counsel of divine truth. This naive man, now in eternal damnation, like millions today, did not study to show his own self approved to God, and consequently bought-into the lie, thinking he would be in Heaven.
Does this not bring 2 Thessalonians 2 into focus?
“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12
What do we want friend, the truth now, or later? Do we want comfort now and torment later (and forever)? Or, do we want the biblical truth of salvation, which reveals that all who truly trust Christ will be tested and attacked the whole of their earthly life with trials, tribulations, persecutions, and the various sufferings associated with the life of saving faith. Eternal glory is the divine promise to those who overcome (Rev. 2-3).
“Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God.” Romans 2:6-11
Friend, are you truly serving Christ and being fruitful in His kingdom? Today, if you stood all alone in a court of law, would you be accused of being a true disciple of Christ? If so, would there be evidence enough to prove such and accusation?
Let’s give ear to what the apostle Paul stated concerning the discounting of all that doesn’t elevate Christ and to be found in Him and His righteousness:
“But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.” Philippians 3:7-16
The pain suffered by those who will overcome is but momentary and light in view of the eternal reward that lies ahead for them.
“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
True & False Leaders
Who are you sitting under? Is he genuinely a man of truth that pleases God and not his audience? Does he diligently endeavor to declare the full-counsel of God’s holy Word? Or is he the typical man-pleasure in leadership who is building his own temporal kingdom by saying the things that make people happy? Does he speak for Jesus or for the goal of keeping people coming back to his meetings and supporting the building of his kingdom (instead of Christ's)? Christ sternly warned His disciples:
“Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” Luke 6:26
The apostle Paul said:
“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ...Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” Galatians 1:10, 4:16
Friend, do you love the truth now? In eternity will you be running through the fires of eternal damnation looking for and blaming a preacher that lied to you by not telling you the whole truth? Will you for eternity seethe in the torment and despair of your neglect of tr
uth while in your short earthly life? Will you, at any cost to your person, life and reputation, hearken to and obey the voice of God's eternal truth that will one day soon judge us all?
“Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness.” Hebrew 3:7-8
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” Revelation 3:6
Do you realize that God Himself actually turns over to be deceived and deluded all those that receive not the love of His truth? This He does that they might receive eternal damnation because they "receive not the love of the truth, that you might be saved." (see 2 Thess. 2:10-12)
To each of the seven churches (not the lost world) addressed in Revelation 1-3, Jesus Christ, the Almighty and soon coming King, stated:
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7
GOD BE PRAISED FOR MEN OF TRUTH
In the beginning of his ministry, the LORD told one particular faithful pastor to "Never fear man or devil and I will prosper you." The LORD has and is prospering him in many ways today because he continues to serve Him in sincerity and in truth (1 Cor. 5:8). This diligent servant counts not his life dear to himself, but is a solid pastor of a thriving fellowship of believers. Thank God for this God-fearing pastor and those few who still declare the truth - no matter what - out of a genuine love for the LORD and His people. These truly fear the LORD and not men and will therefore never be hunted in hell by those they lied to. Jesus instructed:
“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28
Prayer: Father in Heaven, make me a messenger of Your pure truth. Forge in me a deep love for Your Oracles and the dispensing of them. Amen.
